We are stocking an elaborate range of screws used in manufacture of furniture and wood working.
Socket Confirmat Wood screws work with a hex key OR Pozi Bit, and are suitable for all chipboard corner joints and other furniture applications. They have a very coarse, sharp angled thread which helps the screws to cut into MDF & chipboard materials.
Confirmat screws are particularly effective for right angle butt joints.
These screws are designed to offer a secure connection in pilot holes of either 4 or 5mm, and are available with or without decorative plastic caps.
Confirmat screws are great if you are using MDF or particle board based sheet goods plus when you want something that can possibly be knocked down later. (no glue assembly obviously in that scenario) They have good holding power without ripping out of that kind of material.
One thing to remember with confirmat screws is, as with all screws, the key is the pilot hole. This allows the screw to bite evenly all around its diameter without splitting the core apart. The larger the screw the more area it has to bite
For best results, we recommend flush-mounting in a pre-drilled, countersunk hole.
Chipboard Screws are ideally suitable for fast fixing to wood and boards.
The Countersunk head has a Phillips, Pozi or Torx drive for easy tightening. Available in Mild Steel and Stainless Steel AISI 304 Grade. By default most sizes are fully threaded and some sizes are available in half thread. Sizes : 3mm to 8mm diameters up to 150 mm length.
These JCB woodscrews feature a self tapping thread for timber. For finer installation pre drill a pilot hole 5 to 6mm depending on the density of the wood.
