Hex Nuts
A hex nut is used with a screw or hex head bolt to fasten two or more wood or metal parts. Hex nuts are often used in construction for framing or to create a bolted joint.

SS Hex Weld Nuts DIN 929
A weld nut is a special type of nut specifically designed to be welded to another object. There are various types for different applications.
These nuts are very similar to standard hex nuts, but have a locating boss and welding projections. The bosses also keep weld spatter out of the threads.
Hex weld nuts are a six-sided, internally threaded fastener with three triangular weldable projections on the top surface of every other corner of the fastener. The threaded hoe runs through the centre and has a pilot for the entire circumference of the opening which extends above the top surface of the nut and the above projections. The remainder of the top surface of the nut is flat.

SS Hex Left Hand Nuts DIN 934
Left Handed Hex nuts look like regular nuts but are threaded opposite of standard nuts (right-hand), they have left hand thread.
Hence, they turn counter-clockwise to install and tighten.
Also known as “LH” (for left-hand), these nuts are used with left hand threaded bolts, screws, studs and threaded rod.
These nuts are not compatible with right handed bolts.

SS Hex Long Nuts DIN 6334
A long nut used to connect pieces of threaded rod or other male threaded fasteners. is widely used for high-end industrial purpose and automobile industry. It can be manufactured using nickel alloy, stainless steel, steel alloy and duplex steel. They may be partially threaded and offer tear long functional life.
These are also known as coupler nuts.

Dome Nuts
Also called Acorn Nuts. These type of nuts are primarily used in architectural applications and to close off the stud/bolt ends.
They also help preventing foreign matter contamination bolt threads.
Manufactured as per DIN 1587, these are available in Steel-Zinc plated, Stainless Steel AISI 304 and AISI 316 grades.
Sizes from M3 till M24 are available.
HEX Cap Nuts
These type of nuts are primarily used in architectural applications and to close off the stud/bolt ends.
They also help preventing foreign matter contamination bolt threads..
Manufactured as per DIN 917, these are available in Steel-Zinc plated, Stainless Steel AISI 304 and AISI 316 grades.
Sizes from M4 till M16 are available.
Square Nuts
A square nut is a four-sided nut.
They also help preventing foreign matter contamination bolt threads..
Compared to standard hex nuts, square nuts have a greater surface in contact with the part being fastened, and therefore provide greater resistance to loosening. They are also much less likely to become rounded-off after repeated loosening/tightening cycles.
Square nuts can be tightened with pliers or a wrench, making them ideal for use in blind locations. The user can tighten and loosen a square shaped fastener without having it in sight, as long as a sturdy grip can be obtained on two opposing sides of the nut or bolt head.
Installation TIP
Use Square nuts along with flat washers if exposed in order to avoid damage from its sharp edges and increase the strength of the installation.
Wing Nuts
A wingnut, wing nut or butterfly nut is a type of nut with two large metal “wings”, one on each side, so it can be easily tightened and loosened by hand without tools.
These nuts that have protrusions on the head, which makes it easier for one to open and close them by hand.
Uses
The wing nut should be used in a setting where the fastener that is to be used needs to be opened and fastened with ease and in a frequent manner. A good example of this is when you need to fasten a lid on a particular type of machinery, but in such a manner that you will still have easy access to it when you need to.
Home and office furniture manufacturers make frequent use of wing nuts. Beneath almost every modern desk chair, a modified wing nut serves to control the tension on the chair. Wing nuts also are used to allow the rapid exchange of interchangeable parts, such as the heads of mops or other tools and cleaning implements. Microphone or music stands also may use them to put pressure on pipes to allow rapid raising or lowering while preserving structural stability.
When should they not be used?
There are a few instances where a wing nut should not be used for fastening, mostly due to the limitations that it has in terms of function. A good example of this is when the product being tightened will be subject to a lot of vibration. There are times when such movements can loosen the wing nut. This is especially so when they are not fastened properly, or when low quality ones are used for this purpose.
In addition to that, you should also be wary of using a wing nut to fasten an item when you want it to be very tight. A good example of this is when you need to fasten something in such a manner that it will end up being waterproof. The fact that a wing nut is meant to be easily opened means that if you use it in such a setting, it might not work as well as other types of fasteners.
